So far the Roku still wins

Today Apple released a bunch of really cool new stuff. The iPod line got the biggest treatment in features and changes and they are welcome.

I of course was hoping for the Apple TV to do what my Roku currently does and Steve did announce a new device, but it’s still far behind the current Roku offering.

I wish Steve would’ve announced that iOS is now running not just the iPod/Phone/Pad but also the Apple TV. That way people could build apps for the Apple TV which would be AMAZING, thanks to alexalbrecht, I am saying AMAZING now all the time, did you notice?

Anyway, Roku’s offering, ongoing expansion of channels and the option of adding private channels is perfect. And Steve’s comment on people just wanting HD content done by pros is not correct. I am happy with Diggnation on my Revision3 channel and I don’t mind the ads…

Kindle vs. iPad

Techcrunch is asking the obvious question on why people want the Kindle to be an iPad.

Well, I can answer that: We don’t want to pay for so many different electronic devices. That’s easy. Sure, there might be an over-expectation on the consumer side of things. But really, do we need to carry around our iPad, iPhone, iPod, Camera and Kindle… what am I missing?

We DO want one thing to do it all.

I want one of those – even more!

Youtube enables HTML5

Youtube videos are now available in HTML5 instead of Flash. This is high geekery but very interesting as the videos embedded in our websites should become available to mobile devices surfing our sites.

Good, we will switch over and monitor how it works… stay tuned, and let us know if you find any bugs!

Kickstarter has seen quite a bit of press lately and for good reason.

As a new way to fund and follow creativity, Kickstarter gives creative folks the option of presenting their idea and asking for monetary backing. When the project is funded backers can feel good about themselves or get a reward.

Like in this case a beautiful poster for the Soccer World Cup.
